
ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI, Deacon
(c.1181 - 1226)Francis, founder of the of Order of Friars Minor, is the patron saint of animals, animal welfare societies, ecology and ecologists, Italy, Italian merchants & Paddington Parish. To celebrate the feast day of St Francis, our Parish Patron, you are warmly welcomed to join with Friars of the order, and members of neighbouring Franciscan parishes of St Joseph’s, Edgecliff and Mary Immaculate, Waverley for a special liturgy.
SOLEMN MASS 7.00pm Friday 4th October, St. Francis of Assisi Church, Oxford St. Paddington (opp cnr Jersey Road)Music at Mass will be led by the Choir of St Francis, and will include:
Hymn: The canticle of the Sun
Gloria & Agnus Dei from "Missa Christem regem adoremus" - G. Tipping (Australian composer).
Motets: Exultate justi - L. Viadana (16th C. Franciscan Friar)
St. Francis' Peace Prayer - B. Kirkpatrick (Director of Music, St. Francis Paddington)
Mass will be followed by a light supper in the Parish Room
