

Finland's finest chamber choir in recital at

Internationally acclaimed Kampin Laulu (pronounced come-pin-lou-luh) Chamber Choir is a 30-voice new generation ensemble with a repertoire ranging from sacred music to rock. The Grand Prix winners at 2002 Béla Bartók Choral Competition in Hungary, Kampin Laulu has performed at major international music festivals, and performed with Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.
As part of their debut Australian tour, which includes performances at this year's Queensland Biennial Festival of Music, the choir will present an evening's programme of finnish choral music. The program at St. Francis of Assisi will feature works by one of the world's greatest living composers, Einojuhani Rautavaara as well as selections from Kuula, Kostiainen, and concluding with Sibelius masterpiece "Finlandia".
Under the direction of Timo Lehtovaara, this choir will take you on a truly inspiring journey of choral music delights.
